Hi everyone!
I think the film night was a super big success last night!
A few people including the berlin youth greens and a berlin bicycle group
had sent a notice about the film night to their email lists, and there were
250 posters put up and 1,000 small flyers given out by hand and left on
bikes in the district here.
RAW Tempel was pretty much full, and every seat was taken. The mix of films
(funny, serious, and very international) worked very well. People seemed
super interested, and we got a lot of signatures on the petitions to send to
the NYC mayor.
Directors Andrew and Elizabeth gave a great introduction to Still We Ride,
and the mostly German audience seemed to understand the English, and when
asked if they needed translation, they said no. They also sold quite a few
of their DVD'S with German subtitles. After the film we went to Schnarup for
a few pints and had a great night.
So, it was a huge success! If anyone wants a DVD with all of these films,
you can come over to my haus with a blank DVD and I will burn them for you.
It would be great to have more film nights like this, and a few people who
bought the DVD said they wanted to organise other film nights in Berlin.
